This is the perfect tile pattern if you are using encaustic cement tiles which have their own inherent pattern; or if you don’t wish to draw too much attention to the floor. Using contrasting grout to highlight the pattern, or alternating tile colors to create a further layer of pattern, are both excellent options for adding flourish to a grid pattern of square or rectangle tiles.
